Why Umeå?

Umeå (pronounced OO-meh-oh) is the largest city in northern Sweden, shaped by design, education, and nature. • By train: Direct SJ/Norrtåg services link Umeå with Stockholm, Sundsvall, Uppsala, Luleå and more. Two stations: Umeå C (central) and Umeå Östra (near the university/hospital).

• By ferry: From nearby Holmsund (Umeå’s port), Wasaline sails to Vaasa, Finland in about 3.5–4 hours.

• Buses: Ultra runs the local network; use the planner/ticket app for real-time routes and fares.
