  • Arlanda Express is the fastest option, the train takes only 18 minutes to Stockholm Central with frequent departures.
Pricing: Adult one-way currently listed at 340 SEK; promos and group deals are offered.
However trains run early morning to around midnight; First ~04:50–05:35, Last ~00:50–01:05. arlandaexpress.com

  • Flygbussarna airport bus takes around 40 - 50 minutes to Cityterminalen; adult one-way often from 129 SEK when bought online. Also direct lines to Liljeholmen and Brommaplan. Buy online or at machines; free Wi-Fi & power.
First bus at 05:00 am. Last bus around 00:30- 01:05 depending on day of the week.

  • FlixBus airport shuttle is a budget-friendly shuttles from SEK 79, typically every 20–30 min from early morning to late evening, stopping at Cityterminalen, St Eriksplan, Norra Stationsgatan. Buy online or at machines by the bus stop.
First bus at 05:30 am. Last bus around 22:30.

  • SL commuter train the so called “pendeltåg” which board at Arlanda C takes you to Stockholm City. Ticketing depends on SL rules and the separate station fee policy, 190 SEK. Student/Senior pay 173 SEK.

  • If you have time, take SL bus 583 to Märsta station and then the pendeltåg (commuter train) to Stockholm City. This is the cheapest all-SL option and usually works on one adult ticket (SEK 43), valid for 75 minutes from your first tap—just make sure you board the train before it expires.

To Märsta station (best daytime options)

    • SL bus 583 runs “Märsta station–Arlanda–Märsta station” between Terminal 2–3, Sky City (T5) and Märsta station. Timetable is coordinated with the commuter trains.

    • SL bus 579 runs “Bålsta–Sigtuna–Arlanda” serves Märsta station and Arlanda terminals/Sky City.

    • Late night / after midnight (useful when trains/coaches are sparse)

    • SL night bus 592 runs “Stockholm C–Märsta–Arlanda” stops at Märsta station and Arlanda (T2–3, Sky City). Handy to reach Märsta for the first morning pendeltåg.

    • UL/SL night bus 593 runs “Uppsala–Knivsta–Arlanda–Stockholm” serves Knivsta station (also on the SL pendeltåg line towards Uppsala) and Arlanda; limited overnight departures.

Arriving after midnight
After 00:00, airport coaches to Stockholm thin out or stop. Vy Flygbussarna runs late but not 24/7 . FlixBus usually finishes by ~22:40, so it won’t help for true midnight arrivals. If your flight is delayed past the last coach, your realistic options are taxi or rideshare.

Taxis: avoid nasty surprises

Sweden’s taxi market is deregulated—there is no single fixed fare. Reputable firms offer pre-booked fixed prices Arlanda↔︎City (often ~SEK 500–750, varying by company and time).

Always confirm the fixed price in the app or at the stand before you ride, and look for the mandatory yellow price label (the big number shows a comparison fare for 10 km/15 min). Reports of over-charging do occur when travelers use non-affiliated cars or accept touts. Book via official apps or use the airport taxi queue.
